Europcar, Budget and Avis rental car depots are just opposite the building in the Southern Cross station, so picking up and dropping off a rental car is super easy! Myki is the card you will need for all public transport. When using a Myki card, please remember to always have sufficient value for your journey as hefty on the spot fines apply if you travel without correct fare or do not "tap on." Trips are about $3.80 for a 2-hour journey, but it all depends on what zones you travel in, if you are a concession card holder and if you buy a day pass. Myki cards can be topped up at any 7-11 Stores (7-Eleven South Yarra Stn, 167 Toorak Rd, South Yarra VIC 3141, Australia) or at many other shops that display the MYKI logo. MYKI machines are located at major tram stops, train stations and at convenience stores and news agents.
