Aplite House is located on Tasmania's East Coast midway along the Freycinet Peninsula at Friendly Beaches, between the seaside towns of Coles Bay and Bicheno. Friendly Beaches are secluded, pristine and stunning, they're within Freycinet National Park and approx 8 km long. This is a quieter area of the National Park and really is awe inspiring. Its about a 10 min drive from the house to Friendly Beaches car parks and around a 20 min drive to Coles Bay or Bicheno. The Wineglass Bay walking trail car park is around a 30 min drive Aplite House is a very private home base and is well positioned for exploring Tasmania's East Coast. The best way to get around on the Freycinet Peninsula is to drive. Although to see some of the most spectacular landscape features of the region a bit of hiking can be required. Even if it's a gentle stroll along Friendly Beaches, or a hike into Sleepy Bay, Wineglass Bay or Hazards Beach, it's worthwhile bringing some comfortable walking shoes. If hiking isn't for you, or you want a rest from it, there's a few relaxing cellar doors to visit and local cuisine to sample along the way.
