Domus Laeta is a historic house that conveys all the charm and glamour of the past. In Giungano (Paestum) ,Cilento National Park (UNESCO) a few miles from the beaches is south-facing and enjoys wonderful views across the valley to the sea with views of Capri and the Amalfi coast. La Domus Laeta is located in the Cilento National Park, a UNESCO heritage site, in a small town, Giungano, in the province of Salerno. It is exposed to noon and has a fascinating view of the valley towards the sea with Capri and the Amalfi Coast on the horizon. It still preserves its articulated structure of the century. XVII. Giungano is a little village situated in the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, very near (about 8 km) to the “archeological site of Paestum” recently inserted in the U.N.E.S.C.O. list of places of world heritage. The village with its silences and its calm has preserved a sense of the Middle Ages and of country society. The houses face onto the valley with panorama up to the sea. The archeological site of Pompeian, Herculaneum, and Oplontis are within easy reach by car, as are the legendary Amalfi Coast, Ravello with is beautiful Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone, delightful Positano. From Salerno it easy to reach Capri. The owners Camilla Aulisio, a descendant of the family, and daughter Isabella will welcome you. On agoda, it is not allowed to write addresses or contacts. It can only be done after confirmation. Domus Laeta has a long history witnessed in every environment. The palace, one of the oldest in the country, is located next to the main square and the church. It is on three levels and overlooks the valley resting on a terraced garden with fruit trees and vineyard. The structure has all the characteristics of the manor house equipped for complete management autonomy. From the outside, it appears a fortified house as it must have been in past centuries. Inside, before entering the house properly, a series of small courtyards and courtyards where the servants were engaged in various tasks: caring for donkeys and horses (there are still troughs and iron rings to which they were tied), preparation of wine, and production of oil with grapes and olives harvested in the underlying olive grove owned by the family. The large stone crusher in the not yet restored room is still intact, in which there is an old cistern, the olive collection tank, and a sink. The large wood-fired ovens for the bread and for the cooking of the figs that at the end of the summer abounded on the estate are still working. A series of objects serving kitchens is still preserved. The reception rooms have remained the same and there is a memory of the chest of drawers in the main hall, in a document of the '700. The room with access to the spring water well was used for the water supply. The bridge was built to allow it to be taken without risk and in the last century, the population of Giungano had the times for collection because that water was considered the best in the country.
