2 Princes Cottages is a luxurious home-from-home, situated in picturesque Wembury, South Devon. This secluded bolthole offers scenic views, and is just 10-15 minutes from the coast path. With modern amenities throughout, the house is superbly-appointed. It even boasts a hot tub that comfortably seats eight on the balcony, allowing guests to admire the idyllic countryside setting with a glass of bubbly in-hand. This detached home is perfect for large groups including families. The ground floor is finished with hardwood flooring and has an airy, spacious feel throughout the three main living spaces. The kitchen is stylish yet practical, with black granite worksurfaces and a central island with bar stool seating and in-built wine fridge. Self-catering is easily-accommodated here, with a huge double fridge, Quooker boiler and hot water tap, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, double oven, crockery, cutlery and utensils. There is an additional table with chairs, creating an open-plan kitchen/diner, with sliding doors that spill out onto the patio with views across the garden. The lounge provides a comfortable space to relax, and the large leather sofa will accommodate your whole party. There is a Smart TV and entertainment hub with Apple TV, Sky TV, and an Xbox. Or, if you prefer to enjoy the simpler pleasures, break out a board game, wrap yourself up in a blanket, and settle in front of the open fire during the winter months. The adjacent sun room is vast; curl up with a book in the contemporary swinging seat or relaxation area. You can directly access the gardens through the sliding doors, a great place to relax on a summer’s day. A selection of children’s toys are also provided for those with young families. On this floor, there is a separate utility room with a freezer, plus washer/dryer for those joining us on a longer break, along with a downstairs WC. Bedroom 1 – Sleeps 2 The largest bedroom, and one of two with direct access out onto the balcony. This room has a large king size bed, with garden views and an en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower. There is a spacious walk-in wardrobe, high-quality oak furniture and a flat screen wall-mounted TV. Bedroom 2 – Sleeps 2 The second bedroom has a super king bed, with the hot tub situated right outside, through the door to the balcony. The room has a small workspace in the corner, along with a built-in wardrobe. This bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with shower. Bedroom 3 – Sleeps 2 The third bedroom is the last of the en-suites. There are twin beds in this room, along with a built-in wardrobe. Bedroom 4 – Sleeps 2 The fourth bedroom again sleeps two, in twin beds, and is the only bedroom without its own en-suite. However, there is a family bathroom situated just down the hallway, with a bath. There is also an airing cupboard with spare bed linen, extra pillows and additional towels. Balcony and gardens The property benefits from a huge balcony that overlooks the gardens, with sea and countryside views. The hot tub comfortably accommodates 8 adults. Just next to the hot tub is a large glass-topped table with 6-8 chairs, perfect for al fresco dining in the summer. There is a large driveway that offers off-road parking for up to 6 vehicles. The keys to the property will be available in a secure keybox to allow for a flexible check-in. This property is well-located to explore South Devon, Dartmoor National Park, and provides a gateway to the neighbouring county of Cornwall. Plymouth, also known as Britain’s Ocean City, is just a short 15-minute drive away and boasts attractions such as the National Marine Aquarium, and is steeped in naval history. Closer to home, Wembury Beach can be accessed via the coast path; perfect for a spot of rock-pooling, and a bite to eat in the seasonal beach café. Wembury Church is also well worth a visit, with views over the Yealm Estuary and Mewstone. The village of Down Thomas has a small shop and a delightful pub (The Muscle Inn), serving locally-sourced produce. Langdon Court, a boutique manor house hotel and 2 AA rosette restaurant, is also just down the road, for those looking to indulge. The property is best-accessed by car due to its remote location, although there are local taxi services available if required. Plymouth has more extensive public transport options, including routes into Cornwall, and out to Dartmoor National Park.
