We keep them indoors, but sometimes they like to sneak out. Their names are Meli and Elia and they love to say hello and be pet. STORE HOURS: *Most local shopping in the afternoon is closed from 2 pm - 5 pm. *On Mondays and Wednesdays, local stores close for the day at 2 pm. On *Sundays, most shops are closed, except for the mini-market in town. You may run into traffic that consists of goats or sheep in the road or find the village strays blocking an entrance to a market. They are mostly very friendly, so nothing to fear. ***The wind and weather do affect mobile phone service and Wi-fi at times, and there is no mobile phone reception in some areas driving through the mountains. So make sure to print out everything that is important that you might need - like directions, lock codes, et cetera.*** SEASONAL NOTES: *May/June and September/early October offer beach weather combined with solitude. (We even went swimming on December 1, 2020!) In August, all of Greece is on vacation and there are few rooms available in beach villages like ours. It gets very hot - make sure to bring extra sunscreen, hats and drink lots of water. You may also want to reserve beach chairs in advance at your favorite beach. While November and December can be "wet" months, they are also called the "second spring" and are the olive harvest season. Yellow, pink, purple, and white flowers line the meadows and hillside and, the weather itself is lovely for trekking.
