NOTE: Access to the bathroom is via the bedroom. The apartment is situated in Palatine Gardens, a stylish modern art deco building. We fell in love with the building for its design and significance stylish cosy, and snuggle interior. Apartments this good, are a rarity. It owes its aesthetically pleasing architecture and art deco style. Essentials such as iron, a washing machine, a hairdryer are provided as well as linen, towels and bedding. Relax in our king size bed, NOTE: Access to the bathroom is via the bedroom. You have full use of the whole apartment, including the double bedroom, living area, kitchen and bathroom. The space is yours. You access the property via the communal hallway/stairwell, located on the first floor. Access is via key box, check-in is easy and flexible. Check-in and out whenever it suits you (within the check-in/out times). The access codes for the key box will be emailed to you on the arrival day. The Sexton’s Lodge is in the portico of the Grade II* listed Gatehouse to Sheffield General Cemetery. The accommodation has been furnished with original pieces, lighting and antiques from 19th century and we hope it offers a comfortable base for your stay in Sheffield. It is within a short distance of the city centre, close to Ecclesall Road with a good choice of restaurants and bars and within 5 minutes walk of Sharrow Vale with its range of quirky independent shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs The Sexton’s Lodge comprises a living / dining room, small well equipped kitchen, shower room and a bedroom. We have taken care to source everything in the lodge from local shops, suppliers and tradespeople. Our volunteers have created a small and simple private gravel garden with an old bench, for you to enjoy. The garden is south facing, so enjoys a sunny aspect. The lodge has underfloor heating and a thermostatic wall control in the bedroom. The bedroom has with twin beds which can be made up as individual beds or as super king size bed – please specify which you would prefer when (URL HIDDEN) We have compiled a collection of books on local history, wildlife and nature, the growth and development of cemeteries and a complete collection of our own books, written by local authors, members and volunteers over the last 20 years. You will also find a series of board games to play. Local on street parking is available and is metered – at £4.50 per day. Our volunteers doing conservation work are based at the gatehouse, so when they are working, you may experience some noise and activity as they gather their equipment to start work. On street parking is available in bays which require paid tickets. We do have a limited number of guest parking permits. Please let us know once you have booked if you would require these and we will try our best to ensure some are available for the duration of your stay.

About the area: Ecclesall Road is a bustling stretch of restaurants, coffee houses, pubs, bars and shops with ease of access to some of the city’s loveliest green spaces. Situated just off Ecclesall Road, Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens are one of the city’s real treasures listed by English Heritage as a Grade II site of special historic and architectural interest. Here you’ll find an array of landscaped gardens home to over 5000 species of plants, complete with glass pavilions and fountains. A little further up Ecclesall road, you’ll also find Endcliffe Park, a large family park and woodland that runs along the Porter Brook. You can even walk out to the Peak District National Park from here following a fascinating route along the Porter Valley taking in waterway heritage sights such as Shepherd Wheel and Forge Dam, as well as beautiful landscape.
