Villa Canonica was created in the late XIX - early XX century, as now, this place attracted people who could not only build an exquisite house, but also bring new impetus to the development of life for the region. One wealthy family emigrated from Switzerland to Italy and settled here in Vicchio, bringing with them innovative ideas for farming and animal husbandry. The head of the family later became the Mayor of the city and helped to improve the lives of local residents, farmers and farmers, as evidenced by various records, and also opened a school for citizens, which was rare in Europe at that time. During the construction of the villa, which was decided to build on the foundation of the XVI century (where the medieval-style dining hall is now located), layers of more ancient structures were found which unfortunately did not reach of our days. The house was built in the Florentine style using the new and fashionable, at the time, the current Liberti, which is diligently inscribed in the chosen style of the house. The decorative works were made by a very famous Italian company, Borgo San Lorenzo, Galileo Chini who painted Montecatini Terme.
