The Barn at Rigg End Farm set within the North York Moors National Park offers a newly renovated holiday retreat with 3 bedrooms, with tumbling views over the Yorkshire landscape. Built with Yorkshire Stone, the accommodation offers high quality accommodation with great views. The Barn at Rigg End provides a superb holiday home for up to 6 adults and children over 11 years old. The Barn is a fully renovated character property, charmingly furnished, in the heart of the Yorkshire Moors. The property's proximity to Yorkshire's four main towns Malton, Whitby, Helmsley and Scarborough mean that despite the rural surroundings there are lots of amenities nearby. The property has a quirky layout with all three bedrooms located on the ground floor and the main living area and terrace on the second storey offering great views across the countryside. All the bedrooms are en-suite and have direct access to the garden. The living area is furnished with solid oak furniture with beams to match. The space includes: • Two Double bedrooms (Individual mattresses with their own duvet, sharing a bed base) • One Twin bedroom • Three bathrooms • Fully equipped kitchen with American style fridge/freezer with ice and chilled spring water • Electric log effect fire • Under floor heating • Spacious and modern living area • Double doors to the garden, bringing the outside in • Balcony with furniture & BBQ for Al Fresco dining This property is horse friendly! Guests with horses can use the grazing field behind the barn at £5 per night per horse or £35 per week. Please note, there are no stables or undercover structures provided. The Property Owners live in the adjacent property and will be available if needed throughout your stay. Local Beaches For a traditional day out by the sea, head to Whitby Bay. The sandy beach has lots of attractions and facilities as well as some nearby activities for children. For somewhere closer to home, try Pickering beach where, if you’re lucky, you will get to see the migration of the horseshoe crabs. Be aware that this beach is better suited to fishing and boating rather than sunbathing! Go Ape Adventure Course The 'Go Ape' adventure course situated in Dalby Forest will certainly liven up your holiday. The course has a nail biting collection of high bridges, zip-wires and Tarzan swings you will need to successfully navigate. For young children there is the junior treetops experience. However, if you prefer to be closer to the ground why not try out the recently introduced forest Segways? moors Steam Engine A visit to the North Yorkshire Moors Steam Railway is the perfect starting point for any day out. The charmingly decorated carriages are comfortably furnished and the authenticity of the train will take you to a different era. If you wish to mark a special occasion, make sure you book the Pullman Diner Experience where you will be served a selection of hearty meals in a period carriage setting. Beck Isle Museum Explore the agricultural heritage of the local land by visiting the Beck Isle Museum. Attractions include ‘The Victorian Parlour’ and the ‘Cobbler’s Shop’. Don’t forget to buy a memento from the gift shop on the way out. Pickering Castle Come and discover the history behind this 13th century Norman castle. Learn who has occupied the castle over the years and visit the exhibition in the chapel. If you enjoy discovering some of Yorkshire's cultural heritage and want to learn more, then head on to Whitby Abby or Helmsley Castle. For health and safety reasons children under 8 are not permitted to stay in the Barn at Rigg End. This is due to a 12ft drop at the end of the garden.
