房子是由百年老宅改造而成,木制结构为主,中式风格。特别能提现桂林以前的民居，两进院。桂北风格，在这里特别能找到桂林人以前的生活，桃花江边洗衣，田间割完稻田后种菜，养点鸡鸭，自给自足。有时打点鱼，夏天有时也钓点龙虾，特别悠闲好玩。 村里还种了很多草坪，有时约个友人拿个地垫去那坐坐，打把伞，聊聊天打打牌之类的。但更多的时候天气好还是在大院聚会烧烤或是喝咖啡聊天更棒！下午或是早上可以在田间散步，都是水泥地哈，大约2分钟就可以走到桃花江边了 这里离桂林最著名的国宾洞“芦笛岩”景区及特色鲁家村很近大约走路10分钟，车5分钟。就是一山之隔(隔着芦笛山)，和城市就相差很远了，空气质量明显提高，但是去市中心只要15分钟车程。 这里有没被开发的桃花江，还有桂林市区中的百亩稻田保护区,四季景色怡人,有如世外桃源,人文朴实。这里有最美的日落日出。 春天可以看桃花，梨花，各种野花。 夏天可以看荷花，吃莲子，稻田。 秋天可以看金色稻田，各种树的黄叶红叶夹杂绿叶。 冬天天好的时候可以田间烤窑鸡或是红薯。
